Project Description

Team DYRS (the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School) elected to plan a pilot family STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Music) Literacy-event for the students and families in the district based on a classic piece of literature, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  A grand event was coordinated to encompass numerous activities and experiments for students and their families to share, free of cost.

"We wish to increase family communication, to connect all students in our district and their families by offering hands on learning activities.  We would especially like to entice our EL (non-English speakers) and special needs families to attend by making this event low stress and multi-lingual.  While everybody is participating, we will inform the community about the resources available in the school library to support their children’s school work."
