Strategic Planning Committee 2016
The Executive Board of the Massachusetts Library System has called a new Strategic Planning Committee, charged with developing a new three-year plan for MLS. The evolution of library services is an ongoing phenomenon and MLS must shift with our members. This, MLS’ second, strategic plan will guide the way for 2017-2020 with a strategic plan that addresses focused services, staff success, and strengthens the Massachusetts Library Community.

Our goal is to create a way forward that serves our staff well, helps us provide excellent services, builds community among our members, and distinguishes MLS as an active participant in creating a vibrant future for libraries of all kinds.

A dialog with members and stakeholders is critical to our success. As part of the planning activity, we held a series of five community-planning workshops around the state to engage our members and stakeholders who have an interest in libraries. Over 150 members and stakeholders joined us to share their insight, perspective, and priorities.
