The Massachusetts Library System (MLS), a state-supported collaborative, fosters cooperation, communication, innovation, and sharing among member libraries of all types. MLS promotes equitable access to excellent library services and resources for all who live, work, or study in Massachusetts.
MLS provides services to about 1,600 libraries of all types and sizes throughout the Commonwealth. It was established in July 2010.
The MLS Team is committed to providing services that benefit and contribute to the library profession’s core values: diversity, inclusion, equity, access to information, free expression, privacy, and social justice.
Massachusetts has wonderful libraries powered by incredible librarians. The Massachusetts Library System (MLS) is seeking volunteers from member libraries to serve on our 15-member Executive Board. To best represent our membership, our Board should be as diverse as our libraries. We seek members from all backgrounds, with a wide range of experience and job titles, working in all sizes and types of libraries (academic, special, school, and public), from across the Commonwealth.
