Participating Libraries in Rhode Island
The Massachusetts Library System (MLS) and the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services (OLIS) provide free Delivery courier service to eligible member libraries in their states. Beginning in March 2016, the MLS and the OLIS launched a pilot project to expand Delivery between RI and southeastern MA.
Beginning October 1st 2016, the pilot expanded to include any interested Massachusetts Delivery libraries. For most member libraries, this will primarily mean you can receive and return RI library materials through delivery instead mail.
What does this mean for your borrowing requests?
Use the RI delivery slip and index when lending and returning items in delivery to RI. Please note that RI delivery slips are addressed by a 3-digit code. Including the library or organzation is optional (but recommended).
