As a consultant and trainer for the Massachusetts Library System, I work with members on a range of topics, especially in the areas of adult collections (development/maintenance, readers' advisory, and library of things), administration and management (policies and procedures), strategic planning, and I am the coordinator for the Basic Library Techniques classes.
My library career began as a public library cataloger and collection development librarian, then I served in digital services and access services at an automation network. I went back to public libraries as a director, and finally landed at MLS in 2014.
My passion continues outside of this position as a reviewer for Library Journal and Booklist, presenter at the state and national level, plus serving on the 2019 Stonewall Awards Committee for Youth and Young Adults. You can also find me discussing library-minded things on Twitter as @booksnyarn, along with forays into my love for chickens, coffee, tiny houses, and fiber crafts.
My mission is to provide assistance to libraries all across the Commonwealth, so please feel free to contact me for questions or a visit.
