Learning Objectives - brief statements of intent. What should attendees expect to learn?

Instructional Design - the process of creating a learning experience considering multiple modalities to determine the best application for the learning conditions and intentions

Blooms Taxonomy - a classification system used in learning and instruction. Identifies varying levels of information comprehension and application. Conveniently includes suggested vocabulary for composing learning objectives to meet identified levels. See below for PDF with suggested vocabulary.

Kirkpatrick Model - an evaluation tool for training. Intended for use internal organization training situations. Can be used in other settings.

Welcome to the companion guide for Recycle That Instruction!

This is an introductory level workshop for all library staff who provide group user instruction and want to work smarter, not harder. In this workshop we will repurpose existing learning plans to meet our unique needs and resources. After that, we’ll practice how to draft a learning plan that you will be proud to share.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to

  1. Repurpose an existing learning plan.
  2. Draft a sharable learning plan.
