Chapter by chapter, week by week you’ll have opportunities to explore different ways to connect with your community through your library collection. First, we’ll be Curating Collections to help you evaluate, select, and weed. Next up, discover novel ways you can deliver Virtual Readers’ Advisory. There’s no better way to close a book than with some Celebrations and Conversations! We’ll wrap things up by taking a closer look at the Youth Media Awards, National reading initiatives, and participate in a lively book discussion.
Throughout the series we will shine our spotlight on materials and resources that are inclusive, welcoming, and diverse. Some, but not all, of the content is youth oriented – everyone is invited to delve into the content and pick and choose what works best for your needs. At the end of this series you will be invited to submit your own Spotlight on Literature project in the form of a book trailer, virtual reading room, booklist, and more.
