Collaborate With Us

Share Your Expertise with Massachusetts Library Staff

The Massachusetts Library System (MLS) collaborates with independent contractors to deliver high-quality training for our member library staff.

We offer learning opportunities in a variety of formats to meet the needs of our statewide audience, including:

  • In-person workshops

  • Live online workshops and webinars

  • On-demand webinars and courses

  • Multi-week online courses

  • Blended learning experiences

We work with trainers to design and deliver sessions that are engaging, practical, and accessible to member library staff across all types of libraries and roles. Contractors may be asked to design and deliver sessions in one or more of these formats, with guidance and support from MLS staff.

Why Collaborate With Us?

As an MLS independently contracted trainer, you’ll receive:

  • Fair compensation for your time and expertise

  • Support in developing your training materials to meet the MLS Standards for External Presenters and Trainers

  • A chance to connect with a broad network of library professionals

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on library services across Massachusetts

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for experienced trainers and subject matter experts who bring:

  • Deep knowledge of topics relevant to library work

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills

  • A learner-centered approach and willingness to plan collaboratively

  • Openness to feedback and iteration

  • A commitment to use the MLS Standards for External Presenters and Trainers when developing and delivering content
